The Danville volleyball team displayed resilience on Tuesday night, engaging in a competitive match against Loudonville over three sets before ultimately losing at home. The Blue Devils, who now hold a 7-10 record, demonstrated promising moments of play as they prepare for the upcoming tournament season.
According to the team’s statistics, Danville delivered a balanced performance with 4 aces, 32 kills, 6 blocks, 30 assists, and 54 digs. Zoey Neitzelt led the Blue Devils with 8 kills, 11 digs, 4 blocks, and 2 aces. Erin Crider contributed significantly with 7 kills, 11 digs, and an ace. Brookelynn Carter added to the effort with 7 kills and 3 digs.
Head coach Morgan Spitler commended her team’s energy during key phases of each set. “We’re continuing to play strong volleyball, with some really high-level moments—especially at the start and end of sets,” Spitler said. She emphasized the need for consistent intensity throughout entire sets.
Despite the loss, Spitler noted that the team has four more matches to refine their skills before entering postseason play. The Blue Devils aim to recover in their next game on Thursday against Cardington.
