Danville High School’s football team faced a narrow defeat on Friday night, losing 26-22 to Mt. Gilead in a nonconference game.

According to the match report, star running back Cyren Wallace was instrumental for Danville, accumulating 108 total rushing yards and scoring a touchdown. Quarterback Parker Proper contributed with 55 passing yards and another touchdown, keeping the Blue Devils competitive throughout the game. Despite limited scoring opportunities in the second half, Danville’s offense managed to move the ball effectively, forcing Mt. Gilead into crucial defensive plays.

Defensively, Danville applied pressure on Mt. Gilead’s quarterback and restricted significant plays; however, some key drives allowed Mt. Gilead to secure a late lead.
