The Danville Blue Devils defeated the Centerburg Trojans 80–49 in a boys varsity basketball conference game on January 16. Danville’s balanced team effort allowed the Blue Devils to pull away and secure the decisive home conference win.
According to reports, Danville controlled the tempo with sharp ball movement and relentless rebounding, finishing with 21 assists and 36 boards. The Blue Devils shot 48% from the field and 35% from deep, outpacing the Trojas in overall efficiency. Their defense forced turnovers and limited Centerburg to just 36% shooting, despite trailing in blocks and free throw percentage. Danville’s cohesion and energy on both ends made the difference.
Danville pushed Centerburg to overtime on Jan. 17, 2025, before falling 76‑70 in the conference matchup.
Looking ahead, Danville is set to host Fredericktown in another boys varsity basketball conference game on January 23 at Danville High School.
