Danville varsity football blows out Catholic Central

Danville secured a decisive victory over the Catholic Central Crusaders with a 54-0 win, marking their highest scoring game of the season. The playoff match occurred on October 31 at Catholic Central High School.

According to reports, the Blue Devils demonstrated a strong start by scoring 40 points in the first half. Although the second half was less intense, Danville’s performance remained dominant.

Leading players Cyren Wallace and Parker Proper contributed significantly to the team’s success. Wallace rushed for 118 yards and scored two touchdowns, while Proper added 34 yards and one touchdown. Notably, Danville has maintained an undefeated record when Wallace scores at least two rushing touchdowns; otherwise, they are 3-5. Briggs Wallace also made a notable contribution by returning a kickoff for a touchdown.

Danville’s defense was equally impressive, limiting Catholic Central to an average of just 1.7 yards per carry. Jacob Byers played a pivotal role in ensuring that the Crusaders did not score.

The Blue Devils are set to face Fisher Catholic next, entering the game with a record of 6-5.
