The Danville Blue Devils were defeated by the Lucas Cubs, 59–52, in a non-conference basketball game on Saturday. Despite efforts to remain competitive throughout the match, turnovers and missed opportunities ultimately allowed the Cubs to maintain their lead and secure the win.
The game was held on November 29 at Danville High School. According to reports, Lucas established an early advantage with a strong 20-point first quarter and maintained control for the duration of the game. The Cubs’ victory was bolstered by standout performances from Riley Trumpower, who contributed 20 points along with 7 rebounds and 4 steals, and Katie Griffey, who added 17 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks.
Danville made attempts to narrow the score gap late in the game; however, Lucas’ balanced scoring and consistent execution ensured their triumph.
Looking ahead, the Blue Devils are set to compete against the Indians in a home conference matchup. Currently, Danville holds a record of 0–2 while their upcoming opponents stand at 2-1. In their previous encounter, Lucas emerged victorious with a close score of 50-47.
